HOW TO GET CAT BA FROM HA NOI AND FROM OTHER PLACES BY BIKE?

Cat Ba island belongs to Hai Phong city – that is 100 kilometres away from Ha Noi to the east. Logically, you should travel to Hai Phong then from Hai Phong to Cat Ba.

Although there are 2 ways to travel from Ha Noi to Hai Phong but if you ride a bike, you are only allowed to go on the old way. It would take around 3- 4 hours to travel from Hanoi to Hai Phong by bike. Once you’ve arrived you have two choices as to how to get to Cat Ba:

Suggestion 1:

You find your way to the Binh harbour in the centre of Hai Phong city, buy a boat ticket and leave your bike on board ( you might have to pay for the bike fee). It takes 45 minutes to reach Phu Long in Cat Hai island – the middle island between Hai Phong and Cat Ba island. Continue on the road across the island to Cat Ba town.

Suggestion 2:

After arriving in Hai Phong, continue on Dinh Vu road and find your way to Tan Vu Bridge – the newest, longest bridge in Southeast Asia, which connects Cat Hai (the island before Cat Ba) to the mainland.. The length of the bridge is 15 km. Continue along the bridge, crossing Cat Hai island to the harbour. At the port, you board on a ferry to continue your journey to Got ferry harbour. After getting off the ferry, you ride your bike crossing the island to go to Cat Ba town

For those, who are not in Ha Noi, please, following the same route, the first destination should be Hai Phong then you can choose between suggestion 1 and suggestion 2.
